Cold jjamppong comes with chewy noodles and seafood in an icy, chili-sharp broth that tastes closer to Chinese cold noodles minus the peanut butter than to hot jjamppong. Spice runs in levels, with level 1 roughly the heat of Shin Ramyun. The restaurant is about 3 minutes from Exit 2 of Seolleung Station, and same-day reservations are not taken. Samseon jjamppong rice is the warm counterpart, a heavy seafood broth with no egg stirred in. Palbochae appears on the menu as palbo-rajo with a red or white sauce; red is spicy-sweet with wok smokiness.
