King Kebab 킹케밥

King Kebab is a Turkish-style kebab restaurant on Wausan-ro 19-gil within walking distance of Hongdae Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Lamb, chicken, and beef cook on vertical rotating spits. The browned exterior is shaved in thin pieces for each order, then combined with vegetables and sauce inside flatbread. This wrapped format places hot carved meat against cool, crisp vegetables and allows the bread to hold the sauce and juices. The same grilled meats can be ordered as a plate rather than a wrap. On a platter, a fork can separate meat, vegetables, bread, and sauce, whereas the wrapped kebab brings them together in every bite. Lamb retains the characteristic aroma of the animal without a forceful stale odor. Chicken has a softer grain and a milder profile, while beef changes both the flavor and density of the carved layer. A vegetable-heavy kebab increases the contrast between the warm spit-roasted filling and fresh produce.
