Jeonju Kalguksu 전주칼국수

The deulkkae kalguksu here belongs to the same family as the one at Jeonju's well-known Veteran Kalguksu: thick, chewy noodles in a dense perilla-seed broth with a soft, egg-drop-like richness. The broth is unusual enough to split opinion, but the bowls are generous. Noodles are made in-house, as are the geotjeori fresh kimchi and kkakdugi radish kimchi. Seating is floor-only with shoes off, which is hard on anyone who struggles to sit on the floor.
