Hanil Sikdang is a Korean restaurant in Hwangdeung-myeon, Iksan, North Jeolla Province, serving Hwangdeung bibimbap, counted among the three most celebrated regional bibimbap styles in Korea. The preparation method sets it apart: rice is repeatedly doused in seonji broth through a toryeom technique, then pre-mixed with seasoning before being topped with fresh yukhoe and vegetable garnishes. The yukhoe uses domestic hanwoo cow meat, delivering a tender, odor-free texture in generous quantity that lasts through every spoonful. A clear seonji soup accompanies each serving, carrying a subtle ginger note and a clean flavor that tempers the bibimbap's spice. Banchan are few in number but each complements the main dish well, and a self-service bar allows free refills. Television appearances including Jeon Hyun-moo's show have boosted nationwide recognition, and queues form even on weekdays. Arriving at the 11 AM opening is recommended to avoid extended waits.
