Gwonsik Jokbal 권식족발

One platter of the half-and-half king jokbal (braised pig's trotters) holds plain trotters beside red, charcoal-grilled ones, so the difference in cooking is easy to taste side by side. The plain side has thick, chewy skin and moist meat, good with salted shrimp; the grilled side carries smoke and a heat that stays approachable, softened further by a dip in mayonnaise. Fluffy steamed egg and nutty rice balls are the usual sides, and even the medium size is generous for two. Near Seongsu Station, the dining room is roomy and modern, comfortable for a couple or a group.
