An Englishman runs this small cafe and wine bar on the fourth floor of a building with no sign, reached by a narrow staircase that is easy to miss. Under a low ceiling, the room is filled with antiques brought over from Britain and plays old British music. Scones are large and come with butter and strawberry jam, while the sticky toffee pudding sets cold ice cream on a very sweet warm cake. Black tea arrives with milk, sugar and a tea timer, with hot water topped up several times, and coffee is made in a French press. In the evening the place shifts to wine and cocktails, and describing what you like can get you a drink that is not on the menu.
