Songjuk Juk 송죽 Songjuk porridge（松竹粥）

Ground abalone innards turn the jeonbok-juk (abalone rice porridge) a pale blue-green and give it a nutty depth. Songjuk opened in 1968 near the Chungmuro cinema district before moving to this alley off Supyo-ro, and each bowl is still cooked after you order. Sogogi-beoseot-juk, with minced beef and mushrooms, is the gentler bowl, served like the rest with dongchimi (radish water kimchi), salted seafood and pickles. The shop opens early enough for breakfast before work. With no parking and narrow lanes, walking from Chungmuro or Euljiro 3-ga station is simpler.
