Yetnal Patjuk prepares red bean porridge every morning using traditional methods. The restaurant is located inside Seongeup Folk Village in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju. Dozens of earthenware jars in the courtyard show the dedication behind the food. A mother and her two children run the business together, maintaining the same quality for over five years. The signature saeal-patjuk contains many chewy dumplings made from glutinous rice. The porridge reflects the natural earthiness of the beans, and diners can add salt or sugar to adjust the sweetness. Pickled chili peppers provide a spicy contrast to the porridge. Saeal-patjuk requires a two-portion order, so solo visitors often choose the pat-kalguksu instead. The smooth pumpkin porridge is also a popular item for takeout. For a savory option, the sirak-gukbap has a doenjang-based broth that is light and easy to digest. Sikhye and sujeongwa are available as dessert drinks. The interior matches the village atmosphere. Hours are 10 AM to 5 PM, closed on Mondays.
