Sandang 산당

There are so many side dishes that rice goes down without a main, and the fried enoki mushrooms stand out among them. For the main, pick a mildly seasoned tteokgalbi set, a beef bulgogi set or grilled eel; the rice is sticky Ganghwa grain. Culinary researcher Lim Ji-ho once ran the place, which sits on Ganghwa's west coast road on the way across to Seokmodo island. Baekgusu, a traditional liquor, is there for anyone drinking with the meal, and in winter sunlight pours in through the windows.
