Namhae Jeonbok Mulhoe 남해전복물회

Sliced abalone covers the bowl edge to edge, and a sweet-sour, slushy iced broth goes over the top, so every bite is cold, firm abalone. It is fresh enough that people who usually flinch at fishy seafood eat it without trouble. You choose rice or noodles to go in, and the noodles are naengmyeon noodles rather than thin somyeon, so it is a bit like getting a bowl of cold noodles thrown in. Portions are big enough that you need not order one per person, and a single portion can be packed to go. A huge basin of seaweed soup comes with the mulhoe. For children who cannot handle spice, there is abalone porridge.
