For two people, the standard order is a mixed set of both fish. The seasoning avoids excessive saltiness, hitting a sweet spot of gentle spice and deep umami that makes rice vanish quickly. The radish simmered alongside absorbs all that flavor beautifully, becoming a standout bite on its own. Rice portions are packed firmly into each bowl, so you will not leave hungry. Be prepared for bare-bones atmosphere though, with a worn exterior resembling an old family home and staff too busy to offer much warmth. The restaurant opens at 8:30 AM but you need to arrive early to put your name down, as they seat guests in twenty-minute intervals. At just over ten thousand won per person, the value for this quality of braised fish is genuinely outstanding.
