Jongsamyuk 종삼육

Follow the smell of grilling pork from exit 6 of Jongno 3-ga Station and you reach a crowded street-side barbecue, lit with striped lights after dark. The draw is galmaegisal (pork skirt), a lean cut that still grills up tender rather than dry, with wasabi on the side. Ordering is by QR code at the table, and kimchi and lettuce are self-service. Outdoor tables catch smoke from every neighboring grill, while indoor seats have extraction ducts. Vinyl tents enclose the outdoor area in winter. On fine evenings a queue builds, and plenty of foreign visitors eat solo.
