So-hanmari-gukbap, a beef soup along the lines of yukgaejang, has a peppery kick without being harsh, and plenty of beef in the bowl. Ordering the large size adds noticeably more meat. There is also a noodle soup made with bomal, a small Jeju sea snail, and pairs on a first visit often get one of each. Rice is self-serve from the cooker, as much as you like.
