Hwangso Gojip 황소고집

Gochujang bulgogi, meat in a chili-paste marinade, is grilled over coal briquettes outside the shop and lands on the table almost as soon as you sit. The meat is smoky but gently seasoned, so it stays tender, and wrapping it in greens with the vinegar-heavy shredded radish adds a sour lift. The jeongsik set spreads cabbage doenjang soup, kimchi, bean sprouts, braised tofu and more, at least six sides in all; carry an empty dish to the kitchen for refills. Lunch is the set only, dinner adds duruchigi stir-fry, and orders start at two portions. This long-running shop sits on Cheonggyecheon-ro between Jonggak Station and Insadong.
