During the decades when Seoul National University occupied the Daehak-ro campus, the dabang served as an informal gathering place for writers, artists, and students, and that cultural lineage still permeates the space today. Located roughly five minutes on foot from Hyehwa Station, the café occupies the second floor of an aging building, reached by a creaking wooden staircase that immediately signals a shift in atmosphere. Inside, antique wood paneling and fabric upholstery have absorbed decades of coffee aroma, creating a warmth that no newly built retro-themed café can replicate.
