A beef galbi institution in Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, operating across four separate buildings as a large-scale, enterprise-level restaurant. Both seasoned and unseasoned (raw) short ribs are available, with staff grilling the meat attentively at each table. The seasoned galbi features a restrained, non-sweet marinade that encourages continued eating, while the raw galbi showcases tender, well-marbled beef at its best. The restaurant's true distinction, however, lies in its banchan. A spread of over a dozen side dishes, including marinated soy crab, japchae, hobak-jeon, fried eggplant salad, shrimp-broccoli salad, and flatfish, arrives at a level of care rivaling full hanjeongsik, all refillable. The doenjang jjigae made with galbi bones delivers remarkable depth, and the bibim naengmyeon serves as a solid finishing course. Imported US beef is also available as a more budget-friendly alternative, and lunch-special pricing offers a cost-effective way to experience the restaurant. Despite the massive scale, table turnover is efficient, though weekend visits without a reservation may still involve a wait. The restaurant is particularly well-suited for bringing parents or elderly family members during a Suwon trip.
