Bonga Galbi 본가갈비

Bonga Galbi is a beef-only galbi restaurant in Ilsan Seo-gu, Goyang, where pork is entirely absent from the menu. Established around 2010 by operators with prior restaurant experience at Lafesta and around Juyeop Station, the restaurant has built a stable local following in the Ilsan area over more than a decade. Marinated beef galbi is priced in the 20,000 won range, comparable to pork galbi pricing at other establishments, which makes for an exceptionally strong value proposition. The marinade strikes a careful balance between sweet and salty without leaning too far in either direction, and the quality is considered on par with well-known galbi specialists across the Ilsan district. The kkot-galbisal (boneless short rib) is tender with a gentle charcoal aroma that enhances the natural beef flavor. The galbi-tang at around 14,000 won comes with generous bone-in portions suitable for a filling lunch, while the special galbi-tang includes three to four rib bones and is seasoned appropriately for adult palates. Cold noodle broth is light and refreshing, and side dishes such as yuzu salad, dongchimi, tangpyeongchae, and gungchae pickles are all seasoned to complement the meat rather than compete with it. Rice-accompanying items like doenjang-jjigae and yukgaejang are solidly executed, and the house kimchi receives consistent praise. The parking lot is spacious enough for convenient car access and the restaurant has ample seating, though weekend parking becomes difficult and peak-hour waits can be lengthy. Weekday visits typically require no wait. Table spacing is somewhat tight, and the atmosphere can become hectic during busy periods, but the restaurant draws a strong family clientele and is particularly well-regarded as a place to bring parents for a satisfying meal.
