The door sits down an alley rather than on the main road, and a queue usually forms before opening. Its cocktails favor how well the drink pairs with the base spirit over loud, crowd-pleasing flavor, so the second or third glass says more than the first. Classics are the strength here: sidecar, gimlet, daiquiri and gin and tonic, with fresh-fruit signatures alongside. The whisky shelf draws on a wide range of distilleries, and bartenders suggest bottles after asking what you like. Whisky comes with purple sweet potato chips, served in a room backed by mother-of-pearl cabinetry.
