장어나라
A long-established eel restaurant in Bucheon's eel alley, large enough to operate three separate buildings — main hall, new hall, and annex. Quality is consistent across all three, and the new hall has been recently renovated for a cleaner interior. Eel is sold by the kilogram, with two fish per order. The eels are thick, meaty, and generously sized — one kilogram is a substantial challenge for a single diner. There is virtually no fishy odor, so dipping in salt or sauce alone is perfectly sufficient, and bones are barely noticeable. When richness builds, white kimchi offers a crisp palate reset — a local technique worth following. Lettuce, ginger, and other accompaniments are available for unlimited self-service refills. Wrapping eel in perilla leaves or radish adds another layer of enjoyment. The meal wraps up with kimchi-wrapped cold noodles — a refreshing closer — with a choice between yeolmu-kimchi noodles and janchi-guksu. Eel soup is also rich and deeply flavored, doubling as a stamina dish. Pricing originally sat around 50,000 won per kilogram but has risen to 59,000 won. Adding a full kilogram is 1,000 to 2,000 won cheaper than two half-kilogram orders, a useful tip when scaling up. A dedicated parking lot makes driving easy, but dinner peak hours can bring waits of 20 minutes to an hour. During busy periods, the eel arrives mostly cooked, with diners finishing the last steps themselves rather than having staff grill tableside. Multiple eel restaurants line the same street, so confirm the signage before entering.
