갈릴리농원
Galilee Nongwon is a self-service charcoal-grilled eel restaurant in Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, whose primary strength lies in operating its own eel farm to supply thick, fresh eel at reasonable prices. With over a decade of history, the restaurant draws many repeat visitors who originally came on personal recommendations. The eel arrives with plump, well-raised flesh that delivers excellent texture, and fast table turnover ensures consistent freshness. A mild dipping sauce and ginger are provided as standard, along with unlimited ssam vegetables. The restaurant's distinctive feature is its open policy on outside food: anything except meat, seafood, and alcohol may be brought in. Kimchi, instant rice, cup noodles, sausages, mushrooms, and pineapple are all common additions that guests grill alongside the eel on the charcoal. A convenience mart sits directly next door for on-the-spot purchases. Finishing the meal with cup noodles rather than naengmyeon or doenjang-jjigae is a budget-friendly and surprisingly satisfying option that many regulars endorse. Grilling pineapple over the charcoal is frequently noted as unexpectedly delicious. The parking lot and dining area are both expansive, making the venue well-suited for large family gatherings or group events, and the landscaping is maintained to an upscale standard with impressive pine trees. Side dishes, however, are minimal, so bringing kimchi and other accompaniments is strongly recommended. The format is entirely self-cook, and staffing is lean relative to the restaurant's size, which means service response may be slow. Pricing runs approximately 70,000 won per kilogram, with one kilogram being an appropriate amount for two adults. Weekend arrivals even at opening time face waits of twenty minutes or more, and Sunday lunch queue numbers can exceed ninety, so an opening-time rush or an off-peak visit is advisable. During summer months, outdoor dining conditions may attract flies, which is worth noting in advance.
