The Daecheongho 더 대청호

The Daecheongho is a large bakery cafe on Daecheonghoban-ro in Munui-myeon, Cheongju, with windows oriented toward Daecheong Lake and the small peak of Oksabong across the water. Long window-side seats frame ripples and the surrounding ridgeline together, while the outdoor terrace faces the same direction without glass between the tables and landscape. A fountain rising from the lake is also visible, adding a vertical column of water to the broad horizontal view. Salt bread is rolled, browned outside, and left with a soft layered crumb and a hollow where butter has melted through the center. Garlic bread absorbs garlic and butter seasoning across its toasted surface, giving it a stronger aromatic crust than the salt roll. Croissant folds numerous butter layers so the shell breaks into thin flakes and the interior opens into a honeycomb. Basque cheesecake carries a deeply browned top over a dense cheese center. Stollen is a heavier fermented loaf filled with dried fruit and nuts, producing a compact cross-section unlike the airy pastries. Cakes and multiple baked breads share the display, with differences in portion shape, crust firmness, laminated layers, and filling visible before they reach a tray. Blended Americano and the coffee of the day present black coffee at different aroma and concentration levels. Decaffeinated Americano keeps the same extraction format with reduced caffeine. Udo peanut cream latte places a nut-scented cream over coffee, while cafe latte blends espresso directly with milk. Royal milk tea infuses tea into milk and carries tannin rather than roasted coffee aroma. Lemon tea supplies a hot citrus drink. Mango yogurt smoothie and peach iced tea form the colder fruit-based side of the beverage menu. The broad interior divides seating between a long row by the windows and additional tables farther inside. Beyond the building are terrace seats and a walking area leading toward the lake. Window panes, terrace rails, and the outdoor path all maintain the sightline toward the water and Oksabong. Bread trays and drink cups occupy relatively small table space, preserving the open view across the long glazing rather than blocking it with large dining equipment.
