Daeheung Sikdang is a pork head soup specialist with more than fifty years of history, tucked inside Osaek Market in Osan, Gyeonggi Province. Recognized as one of Osan's defining legacy restaurants, it draws a steady stream of market vendors and longtime regulars. The house method follows the traditional toryeom technique, in which hot broth is poured over rice and meat multiple times and drained to bring the bowl to the right temperature, allowing the rice grains to absorb flavor evenly before the first spoonful. Each bowl arrives generously loaded with pork head meat, and the broth is remarkably clean and mild, free of the gamey notes sometimes associated with offal-based soups. A distinctive custom here assigns different cuts by default: fattier portions with offal pieces for male diners and leaner meat for female diners, though specific preferences can be requested at the time of ordering. Sliced boiled pork is available as a separate order, and the house-made cubed radish kimchi paired with seasoned salted shrimp elevates the overall meal. A regular bowl of soup costs KRW 10,000, while boiled pork platters range from KRW 12,000 to 22,000. The restaurant is closed every Monday and on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of each month. Parking is available at the Osaek Market public lot.
