Daedo Brewery 대도양조장

A craft brewery and pub on Kim Gwangseok Street in Daegu's Jung-gu district, built on the site of an 80-year-old makgeolli brewery. The renovated space blends medieval European atmosphere with local industrial character, creating a distinctive setting across two indoor floors and an outdoor terrace. Since opening in 2019, the brewery has produced over 14 varieties of beer on-site, earning the title of Best Brewpub in Asia at the 2021 Asia Beer Championship. Seven of its beers hold competition awards, including the Daedo Pilsner and Ferguson. The brewery's particular strength lies in IPAs and double dry-hopped styles, though lager offerings like the Helles and Koelsch demonstrate solid fundamentals as well. Among the food menu, gambas (garlic shrimp) and dried pollack (meoktae) stand out as top bar snack recommendations, while the complimentary wasabi pretzel pairs well with most styles on tap. Outdoor seating is available but limited to 10 PM due to the residential neighborhood setting. Takeout is offered in 330ml cans filled on the spot, with a per-can discount on purchases of twelve or more. A small parking area is accessible behind the building.
