Ttangko Chamsut Gui is the original Wangsimni location of what many consider one of Seoul's three best pork neck grill restaurants, situated along the edge of Haengdang Market in Seongdong-gu. The restaurant runs on intense charcoal heat that sears pork neck to a crispy exterior while keeping the interior remarkably juicy, with experienced female staff handling all grilling duties in a well-practiced system. Pork neck and samgyeopsal are each priced at 19,000 won, with galmaegi-sal at 18,000 won, and satisfaction rankings among regulars consistently place the pork neck far above the other cuts, followed by samgyeopsal and galmaegi-sal in roughly equal standing. The accompanying condiments of fresh wasabi, jeotgal salted seafood, and salt all complement the meat beautifully, and the consensus among reviewers is that every cut delivers regardless of selection. Families with children appreciate the staff's thoughtfulness in cutting meat into smaller pieces and setting them aside separately. The naengmyeon cold noodles at 5,000 won serve as a refreshing and economically priced finisher, while the gyeran-jjim steamed egg is reliably comforting. A more recent menu addition, the jeontu-ramyeon battle ramen, features seafood in a significantly spicy broth. The restaurant's custom grill plates are designed to minimize smoke while cooking meat to a pleasantly chewy doneness. Located in a somewhat hidden corner of the traditional market area, the restaurant has no dedicated parking. Waits of thirty minutes or more are standard during meal hours, but the rapid turnover rate of roughly one party every five minutes keeps the line moving. Arriving after 8:30 PM typically eliminates the wait entirely.
