만두집 은고개점

Mandujip Eungogae is a restaurant specializing in mandu-jeongol (dumpling hot pot) situated in the Eungogae area of Sansangok-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi-do, near Namhansanseong Fortress. Opened in April 2017, the establishment also operates an identical branch in the Misa area of Hanam. Despite a somewhat remote location with poor roadside signage and a steep, rough access path that is easy to drive past, the restaurant consistently draws a full house. The signature mandu-jeongol arrives as a bubbling pot of mild, clean-tasting broth built from a base of mushrooms (generously loaded with oyster mushrooms), tofu, and beef, crowned with fist-sized kimchi dumplings. A two-person order includes eight large dumplings, and while the wrappers are on the thicker side, they carry a satisfying chewiness that evokes the handmade dumplings of home cooking. The broth deliberately avoids heavy seasoning, maintaining a light, health-conscious profile, and refills are available on request. Haemul-patwi (fried seafood pancake) is considered an essential companion order, generously packed with seafood that provides excellent chewing texture beneath a crispy fried exterior. Acorn jelly (10,000 won) serves as a popular side, and the fried mandu are large and best enjoyed immediately while hot for their nutty aroma. Fresh white kimchi and kkakdugi come as standard accompaniments. At approximately 10,000 won per serving of mandu-jeongol, the price-to-portion ratio represents exceptional value, reflecting the owner's stated philosophy of controlling labor costs to keep food prices accessible. Takeout orders are common, and nationwide delivery shipping is available. The restaurant occupies a sizable building with ample parking, making car access convenient. Weekends generate enough traffic that a separate waiting area operates, though rapid turnover means queue positions advance quickly. After the meal, a complimentary coffee vending machine outside the restaurant provides a post-dining beverage. The interior carries the feel of a well-worn local institution rather than a modern renovation, but the combination of a scenic drive and a hearty meal makes a weekend visit well worthwhile.
