Step out the back and a small sandy cove sits tucked between black basalt rocks, the water shallow and calm enough for kids to wade and play. In summer the cafe lends out beach gear and has a changing room and taps for a quick rinse. Several visitors call the coffee ordinary, but as the price of sitting at the full-height windows on either floor with the sea in front of you, it is fair enough.
