Slices of beef brisket about the size of two spoons fill the bowl of chadol jjamppong, a spicy noodle soup with a strong wok-fire aroma up front and a clean finish. The noodles are thin and springy, and the leftover broth often gets a scoop of rice at the end. Haemul jjamppong swaps in seafood, while yetnal jjamppong pushes the smoky flavor further. Ordering jjamppong-bap, the rice version, comes with an offer of glass noodles. The restaurant is near Seoul World Cup Stadium, and parking means a spot on the main road or a side alley. Fried rice made with scallion oil, jajangmyeon with large onion pieces, tangsuyuk and cream shrimp fill out the menu.
