Tonari Sushi 토나리스시

Curtains close off each party's stretch of the counter, sized to the number of guests, so eating alone here feels unobserved. The assorted sushi set places eleven kinds of nigiri in front of you one at a time and ends with a mini rice bowl, and as each piece arrives the owner says whether to eat it plain or dip it in soy sauce. Salmon and tuna are cut thicker than the rice, and the rice itself is loose, with no broken grains. The fish shifts a little day to day, and reservations are taken by phone.
