Deosup Choso Chaekbang is a book cafe at the base of Inwangsan Mountain in Jongno-gu, Seoul, positioned where the urban fabric gives way to forest. The second and third floor terraces deliver a sweeping cityscape view spanning Namsan Tower, the rooftops of Gyeongbokgung, and the area toward the former Blue House, with the rock faces and dense forest of Inwangsan rising as a backdrop behind the building. The first floor hosts beverage and bread ordering, book sales, and periodic curated exhibitions. While the coffee program receives consistent praise, the baked goods are the more distinctive element, described across multiple reviews as operating at an unusually high level for a cafe setting. The red bean butter croissant and egg tart are the most frequently ordered items, and the menu extends to less common offerings such as kaya jam viennoiserie. The parking area is free and accommodates ten to fourteen vehicles with attendant guidance, but fills quickly on weekends, making public transport the more practical option. Access from Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 3 via the Jongno 09 village bus, or a fifteen-minute walk from the Yun Dong-ju Literary Museum along the Jarak-gil trail, are the standard approaches. Operating hours run 8 AM to 10 PM daily with last orders at 9:30 PM, and the terrace is suited to evening visits for views of the illuminated city. Dogs are permitted inside.
