Squid laid on a wire rack over a coal-briquette fire comes off smoky as ojingeo-bulgogi, its sweet-hot sauce making short work of a bowl of rice. Most tables set it beside sundae-gukbap, blood sausage soup with rice, like a side dish, and since the soup is clean with no off smell, whichever one brought you in, both end up on the table. Soy-marinated pork bulgogi is the milder grill, and seasoned grilled makchang (pork intestine) is softer and gentler than the squid. There are grilled chicken feet too, and the white kimchi among the side dishes gets refilled more than once. It is close to Kyungpook National University's Sangju campus and the Sangju tollgate.
