Coffee Montage is a roastery cafe in an alley of Seongnae-dong on Olympic-ro 48-gil in eastern Seoul. It has appeared in the Blue Ribbon Survey for eleven consecutive years and works with house-roasted blends and single-origin beans across espresso and manual brewing. The aroma of roasted and freshly ground coffee fills the compact room near the entrance. Latte and flat white show dark espresso spreading through pale milk before the layers merge. In a latte, the higher milk proportion softens bitterness and brings out dairy sweetness. A flat white keeps the espresso concentration and thinner milk texture more direct, even though the ingredients are similar. Cappuccino adds an aerated foam cap and cinnamon, moving from dry spice and bubbles to milk and coffee. Bean choices divide broadly between bright acidity and a nutty, clean roast profile. In an Americano, the first can show fruit-like sharpness, while the second emphasizes toasted grain or nuts and a quieter finish. A cold-brew sampler separates several chilled coffees on a custom-made tray. Differences in color, concentration, aroma, and finish can be examined without changing temperature or cup size too dramatically. Ginger latte adds a pointed root spice to espresso and milk, giving the creamy drink a warmer edge. Pound cake supplies dense butter crumb. New York cheesecake has a soft but concentrated dairy body, which stands against the bitterness and acidity of black coffee. Large windows admit strong daylight and create an open view despite the modest floor area. The brewing and espresso bar takes up a large share of the interior, while tables sit around the edges. Seating remains limited, and many chairs have no backrests. The physical arrangement directs attention toward grinders, espresso flow, milk texture, and short comparative tastings rather than toward an all-day lounge. Blended beans, single origins, milk drinks, manually brewed cups, and the cold sampler all remain visible around the same central bar.
