Japanese knickknacks cover nearly every surface of this tiny curry spot on Donggyo-ro near Hongdae, and an axolotl swims in a tank inside. Two curries anchor the menu: a tangy tomato curry and a sweeter, mellow spinach-shrimp curry, priced by rice portion in small, regular or large. Bean sprouts and soboro, a seasoned ground meat topping, sit over the rice, and a soft-boiled egg gets broken in partway through, with ginger on the side to reset the palate. With few seats, it works best for one or two people, and curries frequently sell out later in the day.
