카페 감자밭
Cafe Gamjabat is a large-scale bakery cafe in Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon Province, famous for its potato-shaped bread. The cafe has established itself as a near-mandatory dessert stop on Chuncheon trips, typically following meals of local dakgalbi or makguksu, and its spacious parking lot makes vehicle access convenient. The signature potato bread replicates the appearance of freshly harvested potatoes with striking accuracy. Unlike conventional bread, the texture resembles chewy chapssaltteok (glutinous rice cake), with the interior packed with potato filling alongside soft butter notes and sweet cream. The original potato bread leans mild and earthy, while the cheese potato bread ranks as the most popular variety, with its savory cheese element amplifying the potato character. The sweet potato version appeals to children with its sweetness, and sweet corn bread also features in the signature lineup. Individual and boxed purchases are both available, and same-day bread is best consumed immediately with leftovers stored frozen. Freshly baked bread tastes noticeably superior to the pre-packaged versions, and late visitors may benefit from shorter lines while still receiving fresh batches. After ordering drinks, customers relocate to a separate building that houses a souvenir space selling potato plushies, keyrings, stickers, and various merchandise. An expansive outdoor garden is arranged for photography, and the garden decor changes between visits, delivering fresh visual impressions upon return. However, beverage wait times run considerably long, restroom facilities are undersized, and potato character stickers affixed to windows obstruct the natural scenery from indoor seats. During hot or cold seasons, indoor seating proves more comfortable than the outdoor areas. Gift purchases are common, with many visitors buying in box quantities for sharing.
