Bongbong Bangatgan 봉봉방앗간

Hong Sang-soo filmed part of On the Beach at Night Alone in this Myeongju-dong cafe, a converted 1940s rice mill. The entrance is small, but the space runs back and up to a second floor, with plants and framed pictures everywhere. The menu is almost all hand-drip coffee at gentle prices, and the couple who run it will pick beans once you describe what you like. Drip bags are sold to take home, and there are booklets introducing Gangneung on the shelves.
