A narrow lane under a tunnel of trees leads to this egg tart cafe in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, whose facade recalls a Lisbon alley. The lane is tight for two cars to pass. The Portuguese-style egg tart has flaky, many-layered pastry around a moist custard that is neither runny nor overly sweet, and a shake of cinnamon brings out the aroma. A queue tends to form and seats fill quickly, so many visitors take tarts away, up to 6 per person. A short reheat in an air fryer brings back the crunch later.
