The clam porridge (jogae-juk) keeps the rice grains whole rather than grinding them to a paste, so each spoonful has bite, threaded with plenty of clam meat and sesame oil. In 1998 the restaurant was run jointly by the haenyeo, the women divers of Siheung-ri, and the three porridges from that time remain: clam, abalone and obunjak. Abalone porridge uses chopped abalone and its innards for a deep, greenish bowl; obunjak is a small Jeju shellfish resembling abalone. Boiled octopus, sea cucumber and conch come by the plate, and abalone is served raw or grilled too. The shop sits near the Siheung-ri shore, north of Seongsan Ilchulbong.
