Pohang Susaneop Hyeobdongjoap Songdo Hwareo Hoe Center is a large-scale raw fish facility directly operated by the Pohang Fisheries Cooperative, located along Huimang-daero in Nam-gu, Pohang. The dining experience follows a unique format where customers select their fish or order mulhoe on the first floor, then proceed to the second or third floor dining halls for their meal. The second floor features expansive windows offering ocean views, while the third floor houses a cafe with panoramic 360-degree vistas. The center's primary distinction is its exclusive use of naturally caught fish, and as a cooperative-run establishment, the freshness and quality control of all seafood is meticulously maintained. An assorted sashimi platter runs approximately 25,000 won per person, representing strong value with generous portions compared to other sashimi establishments in Pohang, including those at the well-known Jukdo Market. The mulhoe is equally compelling, with sashimi portions so generous at 10,000 won per serving that they rival standard sashimi platters. The gochujang-based broth strikes a balance between sweetness and refreshing coolness. A table setting fee of 6,000 won applies but includes maeuntang (spicy fish stew), which itself receives consistently positive feedback. A distinctive touch of the experience is the first-floor fishmonger personally delivering the sashimi to the table and providing detailed explanations about each type of fish. Ample parking is available on-site, making vehicle access convenient. Winter weekends may see wait times, and some vendors may close as early as 2 PM on Sundays, so confirming operating hours before visiting is recommended.
