Earl Grey and black sesame sound like they would fight in the Myeongjuga Milk Tea, but the tea's fragrance and the sesame's nuttiness end up layering. In summer the same milk tea is frozen, shaved and topped with cream, rice cake, ice cream, nuts and black sesame powder as a milk tea bingsu. The old house, once a restaurant, has a Korean frame yet something of a Japanese teahouse about it, and there are tables in the yard as well. The owner roasts the beans and brews hand drip, suggesting something like a low-acid Guatemala to suit each guest. Some days, freshly baked coffee-bean-shaped cakes come out on the house.
