Halmae Jaecheopguk 할매재첩국

Clear soup with tiny freshwater clams and chives comes alongside a big bowl of vegetables and a dish of thick soybean paste in the jaecheop jeongsik (clam set meal); the soup is sipped on its own while the rice gets mixed with the greens. Hijiki seaweed and garlic scapes go into that mix, and braised fish sides such as mackerel join the tray, changing with the season. Jaecheop jinguk is the same clear soup with more clam meat. The clam rice bowl puts seasoned clams over vegetables instead. Busan-style seafood for sharing fills the rest of the menu: cockle bibimbap, mulhoe cold raw-fish soup, Busan makhoe sashimi, gwamegi and anchovy stew.
