Cheongmok Sinsin Jjamppong is a Chinese-Korean restaurant in Uljin-eup, Gyeongbuk, with wok-fired jjamppong as the centerpiece. The chadol-jjamppong arrives topped with sliced beef brisket in a rich broth that is flavorful without being excessively spicy. The rose-chadol-jjamppong offers a unique crossover between jjamppong and pasta, combining creamy and spicy elements, while the gul-jjamppong (oyster jjamppong) is packed with fresh seafood. The house tradition involves finishing the noodles and then spooning complimentary rice from the self-service bar into the remaining broth, ensuring not a drop goes to waste. Menbosha (shrimp toast) is a must-order side - thick shrimp pieces are sandwiched between thin bread slices and fried until hot and crispy, with many praising its pairing with the rose jjamppong in particular. The jajangmyeon is mildly sweet rather than salty, with generous portions, and the fried dumplings also hold up well. Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) sometimes sells out shortly after opening, so early arrival is advisable. Orders are placed via tablets at each table, and the self-service station provides free onions, pickled radish, and rice. Many visitors stop by while touring the Uljin hot springs area, and while weekends bring waiting lines, table turnover is relatively fast. The restaurant is not particularly spacious, so the interior tends to get somewhat hectic during busy periods.
