Hanok Chatjip 한옥찻집

Dark wooden beams under a tiled roof, antique furniture, vintage odds and ends and a wood-burning fireplace give this Insadong hanok teahouse its old-house feel. Seating splits between heated ondol floor rooms, chairs and tables, and spots facing the courtyard. The tea list is Korean: tart-sweet omija (five-flavor berry), plum, ssanghwa with its bitter medicinal herbs, thick jujube tea and chrysanthemum, plus sujeonggwa, a chilled cinnamon-ginger punch with dried persimmon and pine nuts, and sikhye, a sweet rice drink with grains of rice in it. To eat, there are honey hotteok coated in injeolmi soybean powder, yakgwa honey cookies, hangwa and a baekseolgi rice cake. Regular coffee is also served.
