Charcoal and firewood burn together in the hearth of this converted old house on Hangang-daero 7-gil, leaving grill marks and smoke on everything that comes off it. Grilled prawn with crustacean ragu pasta puts seafood and noodles on one plate, while charcoal-grilled duck breast and skirt steak with nuruk onion, miso and shishito peppers come straight from the fire. At lunch, chicken French toast stacks crisp fried chicken, pickles and spicy sauce on sweet, soft bread. Sourdough is warmed over the fire and served with smoked butter. The open kitchen, large windows and skylights brighten wood and pale walls, and the small connected rooms split seating between window and inner tables.
