Windows on both sides frame the green slopes toward Bukhansan, and wooden rafters hang beneath an exposed concrete ceiling, with burgundy leather chairs at solid wood tables. Two noodle bowls carry the menu: Pyongyang naengmyeon, buckwheat noodles in a clear broth simmered for hours from 1++ grade Hanwoo beef, and a brothless bowl dressed with house-pickled bracken fern and freshly pressed perilla oil. The same beef broth goes into Hanwoo gomtang, a rice soup served clear or spicy. A solo diner gets the Cheongryu Damunsang, one noodle dish or gomtang with small sides. Groups share eobok jeongol, a hot pot of beef shank, tendon and mushrooms, or fruit-marinated Seoul-style bulgogi, plus mung bean pancakes ground in-house and chilled pork with freshwater shrimp sauce.
