Jongno Yangjo 종로양조

Every beer on the list is named after the streets outside: Jongno Lager, Ikseon IPA, Tapgol Porter. They have been brewed since 2016 on the second floor of Nakwon Arcade, the old musical-instrument mall, and the core three sit far apart: the lager pale gold and light with lime and floral notes, the IPA sharper and more bitter, the porter dark with roasted, nutty malt. Nakwon Pilsner, Wild Sejong and Cherry Gose push into farmhouse and tart territory. You drink them at Silnagwon (Paradise Lost), a live bar on the same floor where a stage and tables share one low-lit room and jazz sets run. Food sticks to burgers, Detroit-style pizza with a thick square crust and browned edges, and meatballs.
