Jangsuok Seolleongtang 장수옥설렁탕

Jangsuok Seolleongtang is a Korean soup restaurant at 499 Gyeongsu-daero in Hogye-dong, Dongan-gu, Anyang, along the road heading toward Suwon. A large private parking area occupies the front of the building, allowing drivers traveling on Gyeongsu-daero to enter and park directly. The restaurant operates twenty-four hours a day throughout the year without a regular closing day, so meals are available in the early morning and late at night as well as during standard dining periods. The menu includes seolleongtang, galbitang, ox knee cartilage soup, and oxtail gomtang. Assorted boiled beef and boiled oxtail are also available for diners who want a meat dish separate from the soup. The beef-bone broth used for seolleongtang is simmered in large cauldrons for more than twenty-four hours, producing a milky color and concentrated body. House-made cabbage kimchi and cubed radish kimchi are placed in containers at each table, where diners portion out only the amount they need. Every menu item can be packaged for takeout. Packaged orders contain more broth than the dine-in serving, but rice and accompaniments such as kimchi are not included by default and must be purchased separately. The range of beef soups and boiled meats, house-made kimchi, continuous operation, and broad parking area define the restaurant's service. The difference between dine-in and takeout portions is particularly important when planning a complete meal away from the restaurant.
