Four speaker systems, including 1930s Western Electric units from an American theater and German Klangfilm gear, play records in this analog classical listening room in Heyri Art Village, Paju. You order a tea, take a seat, and listen to music drawn from about 10,000 LPs spanning Baroque to contemporary work. Broadcaster Hwang In-yong runs the place, and architect Cho Byoung-soo designed the building. Exposed concrete walls rise to a very high ceiling over a single hall where seats and working audio gear share the floor, and live performances take place there too. A separate third-floor room shows installation art.
